Video 6.2 earthquake hits Japan, dozens injured
The death toll for the powerful 6.2 magnitude earthquake that shook southwestern Japan on Thursday has jumped to nine, amid reports of an even stronger 6.5 magnitude earthquake hitting the small island nation of Vanuatu.
The tremors in Japan caused a bullet train to derail and 19 buildings to collapse, leaving emergency crews rushing to rescue those feared trapped by rubble.

The initial tremor struck 11 km east of the city of Kumamoto, according to the US Geological Survey.
There was no tsunami warning, but one person was killed after being crushed by a collapsing building, and the other by a fire that broke out after the quake, with at least 400 people being treated at local hospitals, public broadcaster NHK said.
